Key Responsibilities
- Define, implement, and continuously refine the macro credit risk strategy, credit policies, and risk appetite frameworks for the APAC and MENA regions.
- Exercise final regional credit approval authority for high-value trading counterparties and complex, multi-million dollar structured credit limits.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the regional credit risk team, establishing strong accountability and cultivating a culture of technical excellence.
- Serve as the definitive escalation point for critical risk events, high-exposure defaults, or distressed counterparty restructurings.
- Champion the digital transformation of the credit function by overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of cutting-edge risk analytics, automated tools, and predictive credit systems.
- Partner with senior business heads, commercial leads, and global board members to provide strategic macroeconomic insights and align risk parameters with business growth objectives.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Advanced degree (Master's, MBA) or Bachelor's degree in Finance, Risk Management, Economics, or a related field. Professional certifications (e.g., CFA, FRM) are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 10–12+ years of progressive credit risk leadership and portfolio management experience, with a proven track record heading credit functions within commodity trading houses, major marine fuel suppliers, or corporate banking institutions.
- Expert command of advanced corporate financial analysis, counterparty risk metrics, insolvency frameworks, and structural mitigation tools (e.g., trade finance, parental guarantees, credit insurance).
- Professional fluency in written and spoken English is mandatory; advanced proficiency in Mandarin and Cantonese is a distinct advantage for senior-level regional stakeholder management.
- Deep, authoritative knowledge of the global oil and gas, maritime shipping, and marine bunker trading ecosystems.
- Exceptional executive presence, decisive and strategic problem-solving capabilities, and the cultural agility to lead across diverse regions and time zones.
