Duties:
To assist and perform conservation treatment on works of art on paper, Chinese and easel paintings
To conduct condition inspection and prepare condition reports on museum collections mostly paintings
To assist with exhibition mounting and installation of museum collections mostly painting
To assist with public engagement programmes including live demonstration, workshops and talks on the preservation and conservation of paintings
Qualitication Requirements:
be lawfully employable in Hong Kong
Have attained a bachelor's degree from a university in Hong Kong, majoring in one of the following subjects: Art conservaion, Applied Chemistry / Chemistry Materials Science, or equivalent
Have met the language proficiency requirements of "Level 2" result in the Usc of English and "Level 1" result in the Use of Chinese in the Common Recruitment Examination (CRE), or equivalent
Have good knowledge in computer applications, including MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and Chinese word processing
Must have at least 3 years of full-time working experience in painting / paper conservation with knowledge in exhibition installation; Or have gained a university degree or professional qualification in paper / painting conservation plus at least 1 yearof full-time working experience in painting / paper conservation
Salary: $28,000 - $30,000 (Mon-Fri 900-1800)
contract period : 1 year contract from June 2024 - May 2025
