Working location: Waste Reduction and Community Recycling Group of the EPD at 5/F., Centre Pare, 11 Sheung Yuet Road, Kowloon Bay, Kowloon
Responsibilities:
1. Support contract management of the facilities of GREEN@COMMUNITY including monitoring contractors’ compliance with contract requirements and assisting professional staff in vetting submissions of the facility operators
2. Perform a supervisory role in site inspections to the Recycling stores and Recycling Stations, and their related events/activities for compliance check
3. Handle and respond to public enquiries and complaints concerning community recycling network
4. Support in preparing and managing the contracts of facilities enhancement for community recycling network
5. Support in preparing and updating papers, information notes, guidelines, presentation decks and other necessary materials in relation to the community recycling network
6. Perform a supervisory role in distribution and procurement of gift items for the GREEN$ Electronic Participation Incentive Scheme and relevant recycling programme
7. Assist professional staff in preparing tendering submissions for community recycling network
8. Liaise with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to different Government departments, contractors and property management office when managing the contracts
9. Provide administrative support of the team
10. Supervise, train and coach new staff of the team for supporting daily operations and various initiative of the Recycling Stores and Recycling Stations; and
11. Perform any other duties assigned as appropriate.
Requirements:
1. A Bachelor’s degree from a university in Hong Kong, or equivalent, in subject relevant to science, engineering, social science, communication, environmental management and technology, or equivalent.
2. Have at least one (1) year of full-time post-qualification working experience in environmental project/ fieldwork management/ recycling contract management and waste management, with minimum one (1) year at supervisory level and experience in leading terms for inspection and environmental enquiry/ complaint handling
3. Have met the language proficiency requirement of “Level 3” or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or the Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent.
[ Note: “Grade C” in Chinese Language and English Language (Syllabus B) in the HKCEE before 2007 are accepted administratively as comparable to “Level 3” in Chinese Language and English Language in the 2007 HKCEE and henceforth];
4. Have good command of written English and Chinese, fluent spoken English and Cantonese and proficiency in Putonghua
5. Have good planning and organization skills
6. Have good interpersonal and communication skills, self-motivation and ability to work independently; and
7. Preferably have knowledge and experience in computer applications (e.g word processing in Chinese and English, spreadsheet and presentation software, etc) or management of social media
