Duties:
(a) The duties of the Project and Planning Manager are as follows:
(i) To assist in developing detailed project plans and timelines for the implementation of the territory-wide reading promotion activities, such as Hong Kong Reading Week, ceremonies library programmes, online programmes and other collaborative parties with external parties;
(ii) To assist with procurement, contract management and performance monitoring matters of services contracts for reading promotion projects;
(iii) To assist in budgetary control of the programmes;
(iv) To design, organise and implement diversified reading promotion activities and programmes and to suggest improvement or enhancement measures;
(v) To co-ordinate with branch libraries and various parties such as the education, cultural and youth organisations, NGOs and commercial bodies for organising reading promotion activities and other programmes;
(vi) To assist in event management of on-site programmes and prepare printed and online promotional materials;
(vii) To manage event staff and volunteers such as conducting briefings and assign roles as well as monitoring performance and provide support;
(viii) Subject to operational needs and when library programmes required, the Event Planning and Execution Manager may be required to perform duties outside office hours and public holidays, require to work outdoor upon request;
Requirement:
(a) shall have a bachelor's degree from a Hong Kong university, or equivalent;
(b) shall possess 'Level 3' or above in Chinese Language and English Language in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE) or Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE), or equivalent [See Note];
(c) shall have excellent command of spoken and written in Cantonese, English and Putonghua;
(d) shall possess good communication and interpersonal skills, be able to work in interface with a wide spectrum of non-governmental organisations, community organisations and the public;
(e) shall possess at least two (2) years full-time working experience in organising large-scale cultural events within the past five (5) years immediately preceding the Quotation Closing Date. The full- time working experience shall be a continuous contract with no less than eight (8) months. Documentary proof, for instance copy of employment contract, referee's letter, showing the contract employment / job description, the contract commencement and completion dates, the scope of duties, etc., must be provided by the candidates to substantiate his past experiences. Otherwise, the relevant claimed past experiences will not be considered;
(f) preference might be given to those with working experiences in event and project planning, community outreach volunteer management, video production, budget management, government or statutory body;
(g) shall have good knowledge in common computer applications including MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint and Chinese word processing; and
(h) immediate availability is preferable.

Working Hour: Mon - Fri 09:15 - 18:03 (8.8 hours included 1 hour meal break)
Contract Period: June 2026 - Feb 2027 (8 months contract)
Salary: $1680/day
