Responsibilities:
1. Managing consultancy studies and trial projects on standalone on-site food waste treatment/ pre-treatment systems, including formulating strategies, assessing cost-effectiveness and resolving logistical and environmental issues
2. Exploring and liaising with supplies of the latest food waste treatment/pre-treatment technologies and supporting non-governmental organizations in conducting demonstrations and trials across various premises
3. Managing service contracts for food waste treatment/pre-treatment systems in government, commercial and residential setting
4. Assessing environmental funding applications for projects related to on-site food waste treatment/pre-treatment or other food waste-related initiatives
5. Coordinating and maintaining close communication with all relevant stakeholders, including but not limited to residents/ management offices of participating premises, Government Departments, and site users, to ensure seamless execution of all necessary works in order to achieve the goal set in the Policy Address
6. Handling enquiries and complaints regarding on-site food waste treatment/ pre-treatment facilities
7. Preparing and updating various documents, including papers, information notes, publications, guidelines, presentation materials, and other necessary items related to food waste management
8. Performing other tasks as assigned by the supervisor
Requirements:
1. The Food Waste Recycling Manager must be permanent residents of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region at the time of employment.
2. A Hong Kong First or Second Class honour degree, or equivalent, in a relevant science or engineering subject
3. At least 9 years of relevant full-time post-qualification working experience
4. At least 6 years of working experience in customer services, including food waste recycling complaint and enquiry handling
5. At least 4 years of working experience in the Government in the fields of food waste reduction, food waste recovery, food waste recycling facilities, food waste pre-treatment facilities management and food waste recycling contract management or other related domains
6. At least 2 years of working experience at a supervisory level overseeing a territory-wide food waste recycling project(s) including liaison with relevant parties and monitoring on the performance of the food waste recycling/ pre-treatment facilities
7. Good English and Chinese writing skills, fluency in spoken English and Cantonese and proficiency in Putonghua
8. Sound knowledge of Government procedures and requirements for procurement and funding schemes
9. Good data analysis, project coordination and presentation skills
