About GCEG: As a subsidiary of the Great Entertainment Group, GCEG was set up to produce the AIA Carnival; one of the most anticipated and celebrated annual events in Hong Kong, offering a unique combination of entertainment, culture, and culinary experiences.
Role Overview: The AIA Carnival is seeking an Assistant Stage Manager to join our dynamic team and run our famous Community Stage. Over 61 days, the community programme at the AIA Carnival will feature acts and activations by hundreds of community partners from a variety of pillars including Visual Arts, Performing Arts, Health and Wellness, Education and NGO’s. With experience in events or theater, the ideal candidate will liaise with our Community Partners, manage bookings, facilitate acts and activations, coordinate with the AVL technicians, and oversee the stage management team to ensure seamless event operations. This is a full-time short-term position from December 2025- March 2026.
Contract Duration: 15 December 2025 - 1 March 2026
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Stage Manager in coordinating community groups involved in the event.
- Support Community Partners upon arrival and help them liaise with stage technicians to ensure technical requirements are met.
- Help oversee acts and activations by Community Partners.
- Liaise with the AVL team.
- Ensure all stage activities run smoothly and on schedule.
- Take initiative and proactively solve problems as they arise.
- Report to the Stage Manager and provide updates as needed.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing busy events.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Strong communication skills in English and Cantonese
- Ability to work well in a team and take initiative.
- Flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced event environment.
- Professional, polite and energetic.
