Formerly known as the Gurkha Services Division of Hong Kong Guards Limited, Force Guard was incorporated in 2008 as a separate corporation, as a result of widespread customer acceptance and rapid growth.

Hong Kong Guards Limited, one of the biggest and most reputable security firms in Hong Kong, was established in 1979 and is a founding member of the Hong Kong Security Association. A joint venture between Hong Kong Guards Limited and Young's Company Limited in 2003 resulted in the formation of the Gurkha Services Division of Hong Kong Guards Ltd that, in turn, evolved into Force Guard Ltd. The goal of the new company has been provied both Gurkha and Premium Chinese Security Services. It is managed by a former British Army Warrant Officer, Robert Yeung Man Cheung, the first local Chinese to operate a Gurkha security service since 1992.
